The three chambers (mini-compost bins: have been kept moist and warm on a window sill. The content temperature in each bin was approx. 30C. The plastic bag material has been removed from the bin and photographed,
A expected on the basis of the rates of decomposition of bags in large compost bins little has happened to the bags but the composting material in the base of the bin has started to decompose. The bags were photographed and returned to the bins which were
remixed with fresh grass, straw and shredded paper. The bags will be checked again one month from the start date.
