Painted compost bin
Paint a Compost bin and
post a photo to be published on carryoncomposting.com
Celebrate Compost Awareness Week by painting a compost bin. A painted bin can turn a garden necessity into a garden feature. Let the children use their imagination. The bin can be painted as a house, animal, decorated with flowers or general decorated with pictures of the different items that can be put in the bin. Two children can share a single bin painting a side each. Water-based emulsion paint is recommended, as it's very easy to clear up, and it dries quickly.
Take a photo of the bin once painted and email it to carryoncomposting1@gmail.com, post a copy on social media and send one to the local press.

Very informative site. Having been away for 5 weeks and returning to evidence of rats under and around the compost bin, I can testify to lack of human activity allowing the rats to get comfortable.
