Compost Awareness Week 2015 Poster.

Rainy days over Christmas and the New Year offer children and young people to combine their artistic skills with a love of composting by designing a Composting Poster for our CAW Poster Competition.

Snow in the garden may stop you working but offers the ideal opportunity to take be creative and take a photo of composting for our Compost Awareness Week photo competition. The competition is being judged in May but you can start taking photos now.

We are hoping to move our  Composting Demonstartion site to a new location where we will be able to attract more serious gardeners to the site and hopefully link their visits to a tour of the site and talks on composting.

I now have a new Stainless Steel indoor wormery from Original Organics. It is now set up and working in our utility room. Quite an impressive piece of kit. More details will appear in the Wormery section of this site.

If yoy have not yet protected your outdoor wormeries from the frost  do so without delay.

Either move them into the garage, shed or other outbuilding or wrap them up in insulating material. We have wrapped two of the three wormeries in use at the demonstration site with old compost bags containing loft insulation. For the third wormery, we have used bubble wrap.

At home my wormeries have been moved to a shed and will be given additional protection with bubble wrap later.
